GASTEVSKI GROUP UNVEIL THE LAKELANDS

The blooming Lakelands estate has welcomed a brand-new tavern this month, as the award-winning Gastevski Group opens The Lakelands.

The greenfield tavern features three distinct indoor and outdoor sections, catering to 750 patrons, comprising a dining area, open beer garden, entertainment area, and one-of-a-kind sporting area.

Built in Perth’s high-growth southern corridor, the venue will cater to local families, sporting fans and visitors to the community. Set to create more than 60 jobs, it will be another step in cementing Lakelands as centre of activity in the region.

“Due to its central location within one of the region’s fastest growing areas, the Lakelands Tavern will become a dining destination for the community, where visitors can connect with their friends, family, and other residents,” suggests Brendan Gore, CEO and MD of property developer Peet, which created the estate.

“We look forward to seeing the venue become an entertainment hub for not only the local community, but for visitors to the region as well.”

Following a soft launch for locals and VIPs to celebrate the completion, The Lakelands officially opened for business from the start of May.

The award-winning masterplanned Lakelands community was developed by Peet and plays a role in supporting the region’s growing population, projected to increase more than 30 per cent to around 120k in the next 15 years.

In June, the new Lakelands train station is slated to open, making the region more accessible courtesy of a 50-minute journey to or from the Perth CBD.

Gastevski Group worked closely alongside Peet and Box Architects on the venue’s design, which includes innovative elements such as a flat roof, which maximises solar layout, promotes acoustics, and allows for more efficient insulation.

“Designed with residents in mind, the Lakelands Tavern is a modern, industrial-themed space with a warm, brewery-house feel,” says Group director Adrian Gastevski.

“An open-air alfresco space sits right at the heart of the venue, providing natural light throughout whilst creating an indoor garden environment for patrons to enjoy.”
