ALH’S BURLEIGH HEADS HOTEL GETS A $3.5M REFRESH

Burleigh Heads Hotel unveiled a $3.5 million makeover last month, bringing a fresh new look and elevated beachfront experience to one of the Gold Coast’s most iconic local pubs.

The major redevelopment includes a revitalised sports bar and bistro, alongside a standout new beachfront deck that transforms the venue’s façade to reveal uninterrupted views across the Burleigh foreshore.

The upgrade comes as Burleigh Heads continues to grow, with the recent light rail extension to the suburb further boosting connectivity and visitation to the popular coastal destination.

ALH Hotels managing director Paul Walton said the investment reflects the group’s commitment to evolving alongside the communities its venues call home.

“Burleigh Heads has changed enormously over the past decade, driven by strong local growth and major infrastructure projects like the Light Rail expansion.

“This multi-million-dollar refresh ensures the Burleigh Heads Hotel evolves with the region. We are investing heavily in our venues to deliver state-of-the-art hospitality experiences while ensuring these iconic local hubs continue to thrive for years to come.”

For publican Annie Kublins, the focus was on modernising the venue while retaining the relaxed atmosphere that has made it a local favourite.

“The new front deck completely transforms the venue. For the first time, guests can sit right on the beachfront edge, take in the ocean views, and soak up everything that makes Burleigh special,” said Kublins.

Designed by Cayas + Ward Architects, the refreshed venue takes inspiration from its coastal surrounds, with a lighter, contemporary aesthetic that complements the beach just metres away.

The food and beverage offering has also received attention, with a menu combining fresh local seafood and share plates with classic pub favourites. Behind the bar, signature cocktails including the Burleigh Paloma, Passionfruit Caipirinha and Yuzu Cucumber Collins bring a fresh twist to the drinks list.

With its fresh new look, beachfront views and revamped food and drink offering, Burleigh Heads Hotel is bringing a new energy to the local pub scene while staying true to the laid-back coastal character that has made it a Burleigh institution.
