SICILIAN LEMON TOASTS FLAVOURED GIN MARKET

Following the growth of the category and recent successes, Diageo has released a new twist for the flavoured gin market with Gordon’s Sicilian Lemon Distilled Gin.

The past year has seen strong growth in the segment with almost half the increase coming through flavoured gins. Of these, 50 per cent of the growth has been through the success of Gordon’s Premium Pink Distilled Gin.

IWSR Global numbers find Gordon’s to be ‘World’s No.1 International Gin’ again, in both value and volume.

Gordon’s Sicilian Lemon Distilled is a variation on an original recipe from Alexander Gordon, created using 100 per cent natural flavours, crafted to balance the Gordon’s and juniper notes with the finest Sicilian lemons.

The liquid is described as “a taste of Sicily” bringing a zesty and fresh gin with refreshing citrus flavour.

“In Australia, we have seen a huge increase in appetite for different styles of gin,” notes Linda Wellington, head of Light Spirits at Diageo Australia.

“Flavoured gin contributed 43 per cent to total gin growth in Australia over the last 12 months*, so we know consumers are looking to experiment with their drink choices and try something new and unique.”

Gordon’s Sicilian Lemon Distilled is available in both full-strength 700ml serve (ABV 37.5 per cent) and ready-to-drink format.
