OFFER FOR SALE IN TOWN WITH NO PUB

An unusual ‘opportunity’ has presented to market, offering suitably vetted candidates the chance to buy into a pub franchise in the Hunter region – in a town with no pub.

It’s been reported that Loner Star Hotels is offering, for the first time ever, suitably approved franchise partners share in their very own hotel tavern franchise.

Loner Star Hotels is said to be an “exciting new concept” comprising several elements that combine to deliver a “complete and successful business”.

The company is slated to open a “number of new premises in key locations”, such as Williamtown, NSW.

On offer at the Williamtown pub is a fully operational Lone Star tavern/hotel, comprising complete turnkey operation with ongoing support. It includes sports bar, gaming room and EGMs, bistro and outdoor dining, kids’ area and bottleshop.

Franchisees can operate the business under management or be hands-on, as full training Is provided, along with help in menu creation and product development, operational systems and programs, staff recruitment and training, compliance, local area marketing and sponsorships, and procurement and supplier rebates.

Stipulated as “a franchise opportunity in Australia” applicants will be required to demonstrate a strong background in business ownership or management, which includes representing the brand “as a key business” in the area, as it will come with “a stellar reputation with the community and with our valued customers”.

Williamtown is a rural suburb of the Port Stephens local government area in the Hunter Region, a half-hour north of the Newcastle CBD, beside the airport. It is home to around 760 people. NSW Liquor & Gaming has no record of a hotel or any gaming licences in the precinct.

The sale is being marketed by Mike Fuller, franchise business broker for FULR Franchise Consulting P/L, which provides franchising strategies for business ideas.

PubTIC was unable to gather further information on the Williamtown option as Fuller did not respond to requests for comment.

FULR offers that the average investment from a franchisee is $1.5-2 million for a leasehold, or more for freehold options.
