McGUIRES BEGIN $16m GREENFIELD SOUTH OF BRISBANE

Queensland-based McGuire Hotel Group has begun construction on a $16 million family-friendly tavern for the Yarrabilba community.

Set to occupy a 4,000sqm site adjacent to a Coles shopping centre in the heart of the precinct The Terrace will encompass approximately 2,000 square metres of floor space.

It will offer dining spaces, family areas, a kids’ zone, a dedicated sports bar, a large outdoor lounge, and state-of-the-art facilities for meetings and functions, including weddings catering for up to 80 guests. The design incorporates bespoke fixtures and landscaping.

McGuires hold a portfolio of ten hotels in Queensland and boast more than 100 years in the hospitality industry.

“The tavern site, which is in a prime location to service the community, has allowed us to design a top-class facility that we feel the residents of Yarrabilba will really appreciate,” says McGuire Hotel Group operations manager, Matthew McGuire.

Yarrabilba is an $11 billion master-planned community in the Logan corridor, 46 kilometres south of Brisbane. The completed tavern development is expected to create 60 ongoing jobs for the local area.

“The new tavern will be a major milestone for our community and a fantastic destination for Yarrabilba residents and others from the surrounding areas to socialise, relax and connect,” suggests Lendlease development director for Yarrabilba, Michelle Wooldridge.

“It also supports our commitment to creating local jobs, which is underpinned by Lendlease’s plans for a future 100+ hectare mixed industry and business precinct and a thriving town centre with an estimated 40,000-50,000 square metres for retail.”

The Terrace at Yarrabilba is scheduled for completion mid-2022.
