Marlow Group has completed a major renovation to its Coniston Hotel, opening new 4-star accommodation on the second level.
The Coniston Hotel is a large, multi-level structure opposite the train station on a corner of Bridge Street in Coniston, a suburb of southern Wollongong just over an hour’s drive south of Sydney.
It counts two bars, indoor and outdoor function spaces for up to 100 guests, restaurant, and well-equipped bottleshop, with parking at the rear.
Marlow Hotel Group makes practice of looking for ways to grow and improve its existing portfolio and saw opportunity in The Coniston’s accommodation. The region is known for spectacular coastline and beaches, the picturesque Grand Pacific Drive and Sea Cliff Bridge, plus entertainment meccas Jamberoo Action Park and Win Stadium.
The Hotel now also offers 20 guest rooms, all with ensuite bathrooms, complimentary WIFI, 58-inch smart TV and reverse-cycle air-conditioning. They offer a combination of King, Queen and Twin bedding, plus a selection of balcony rooms, adjoining family rooms and accessible rooms.
“The property is now primed to operate as a tourism asset to the local area,” says venue manager Kerry McQuisten. “The accommodation is perfect for our function guests, out-of-town relatives and friends of local residents, or anyone looking to travel to the beautiful south coast for work, leisure or sport.”
Complementing what was already a strong operation, the new facilities bring the Coniston in line with Group targets.
“We’ve always focused on creating an excellent patron experience in our venues, and offering the local community high quality yet affordable bistro and bar experiences,” adds Group founder and MD, Jason Marlow.
“We are proud to deliver the same promise for our accommodation offering.”
