GAMING EXPO SET TO REAL

The special-edition 30th anniversary Australasian Gaming Expo (AGE) begins in less than a week, set to be another biggest-ever event, with enhanced benefits for attendees.

The first-ever AGE took place in 1990, occupying just one hall of the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre (SCEC) at Darling Harbour. It comprised only around 100 exhibitors and attracted around 1,500 visitors, heralding a huge success.

In 2019 the Expo will sprawl across 19,000 square metres at the International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney, housing 229 exhibitors, making it the third-largest gaming and hospitality industry trade show in the world.

A highlight this time around will be the dedicated 30-year celebrations, beginning with the honouring of several exhibitors that have been at the AGE for every year at a special event.

The seminar program has also been expanded, and will include PubTIC’s discussion on “the renovation cycle” in hotels.

Again this year will be the trip for two people to Las Vegas, given away each of the three days.

But new this year, the AGE has partnered with gaming CRM supplier RedeemX to allow visitors to the Expo to earn extra entries to the daily Vegas trip promotion. This is done via kiosks on the Expo floor, as well as SMS engagement and games; more engagement produces more chances to win one of the trips.

2018 saw 8,638 hospitality industry professionals through the AGE, and organisers the Gaming Technologies Association (GTA) report pre-show registrations point to “another bumper year”.

AGE 2019 will take place 13 -15 August. Visitor registration and more information, including exhibitor map, at www.austgamingexpo.com or the Gaming Expo Help line 02 9211 7430.
