GABS HOTTEST 100 FOR 2025

The annual GABS Hottest 100 Aussie Craft Beers poll has been finalised, for the 17th year, finding familiar favourites and a flight of new additions.

Australia’s yearly battle of the beers for 2025 proved a stand-off between nearly 400 of the country’s best craft breweries.

Around 55K consumers registered to cast their votes, nominating nearly one thousand five hundred different beers. An impressive 70 different breweries make it onto the list, representing every state in Australia.

There were also GABS Hottest 100 countdown day parties held in venues in every state.

Taking top honours this year – again, becoming only the second beer to earn #1 three years in a row, after Feral’s Hop Hog (2012-2014) – was the standing staple, Status Quo, by Mountain Culture. The Blue Mountains brewery recently announced Australian cricket hero Pat Cummins as an investor.

In second place – marking the first time on the podium for Australia’s oldest independent brewery, after more than 150 years producing beer in South Australia – was Coopers’ timeless Pale Ale.

Rounding out the winners’ circle was two-time previous champion, Balter’s XPA.

In a further sign of the times, this year two non-alcoholic brews made the grade: Heaps Normal (#52), and Lightning Minds (#61).
