EXCLUSIVE: NEW ERA FOR TEA GARDENS HOTEL

A Tea Gardens hotel has changed hands after 68 years of family ownership.

Manenti Quinlan reported the historic sale of the Tea Gardens Hotel Motel yesterday after a campaign involving potential buyers from around the country.

Director Gerry Quinlan told PubTIC the buyer was “a well-known Sydney hotelier” but refused to disclose the price.

The hotel enjoys a prime waterfront location and incorporated 21 motel suites. Revenue is reported to be around $4 million annually, and existing proprietors Rob and Lee Anderson hold a strong affiliation with the region and intend to remain there indefinitely.

Responding to questions on the hotel’s significance, Quinlan concurred both its geographic location and amenities were of significance.

“High profile Sydney hoteliers were seeking opportunities outside Sydney particularly along the coast. The ripple effect has now commenced.”
