The Waugh’s PHMG has secured approval for new build The Hurstville Hotel, after the Georges River Planning Panel gave the green light last month.
PHMG is working with developers on the brand-new family-friendly pub on level-one of the new $60 million 14-storey One Hurstville Plaza development at 288 Forest road, opposite Hurstville railway station, which is currently under construction.
The pub will encompass 721sqm internal and 339sqm external space, and be licensed for 350-pax.
It will offer a main cocktail bar and dining spaces including outdoor seating protected by an integrated retractable shade structure, plus private garden dining to the east. The gaming room will have 30 gaming machines and its own bar, located on the northern side, away from the Forest Road and Hurstville Plaza frontages.
The DA proposed extended trading hours of 7am to 4am Monday to Sunday, for a 12-month trial period.
Application on the new premise was lodged July 2021 on behalf of One Hurstville Plaza developers Coombes Property Group, with Public House Management Group (PHMG) to be engaged to oversee operations.
In December the panel approved PHMG’s Plan of Management, covering CCTV, security and noise control, and concluded the pub would not have unacceptable adverse impact on the surrounding environment.
Works on the venue are projected to cost around $3 million.
