BARRY ADDS GRAFTON CROWN JEWEL TO THE PORT

North coast publican Harry Barry has taken the title to the idyllic Crown Hotel of Grafton, in the NSW northern rivers region.

The Crown Hotel Motel is situated on 6,000sqm of riverfront land in the heart of historic Grafton.

The Hotel itself is a heritage building with bar, TAB and Keno, gaming room with 11 machines, dining and function rooms on the ground floor, and 19 pub-style accommodation rooms upstairs.

Her Majesty the Queen is believed to have stayed in Room 7 in the 60s, during a tour in Australia.

A separate building houses 18 air-conditioned motel rooms, built in the 80s.

The Crown boasts the only riverfront accommodation and dining in Grafton, overlooking the beautiful Clarence River and Susan Island, within short walk of the CBD and shopping areas. The River is safe for swimming, and attracts people for fishing and all manner of water sports.

Pam and Gordon Masters have operated the Crown for more than two decades, and engaged Deane Moore of Moore & Moore Real Estate for an off-market campaign.

Incoming purchaser, Barry’s North Coast Hotel Group, which already owns the Good Intent Hotel and Village Green Hotel in town, has been eyeing the property for “many years” and the front man is excited to finally take the prize.

“We consider the Crown Hotel the jewel in the crown of our Grafton portfolio, and we wish to thank Pam and Gordon Masters in allowing our group to obtain the asset,” says Barry.

Heading to retirement, the Masters have reportedly been true to their name at the popular Grafton institution.

“Pam and Gordon are the most lovely people and it was a pleasure to work with them to achieve this result,” added Moore.
