YOUNG PATRONS WARNED ‘JUST … DON’T’

The 2023 Liquor Accord Forum was held this month, bringing the launch of a new program to tackle anti-social behaviour among younger patrons at licensed venues.

On 5 April more than 200 industry stakeholders from across NSW came together to discuss emerging issues, trends and industry priorities.

The event included news of the new campaign titled “Just … Don’t” – targeting young people attending bars, pubs and clubs.

Just Don’t seeks to educate these less experienced customers on drinking etiquette, through posters and coasters produced for venues, as well as videos for online, depicting scenes such as inappropriate drunken behaviour, and buying drinks for underage friends.

The Forum also marked the launch of a new Liquor Accord Strategy 2023-2025, which identifies five key priorities to support and strengthen liquor accords, helping them provide local solutions to local issues.
