MAN STABBED WITH BUTTER KNIFE AT BONDI PUB

Police are endeavouring to locate a man that stabbed another man at popular Bondi Beach pub Ravesis on Saturday night.

Two men became involved in an argument outside the hotel around 9:30pm, and it is alleged one of the pair picked up a butter knife and stabbed the other, inflicting wounds to his chest and hand.

The offender fled the scene. He is described as Caucasian, around 30 years’ old, 170-175 cm tall (5’9”), solid build, with very short blonde hair. He was wearing a white t-shirt.

Emergency services arrived and treated a 35-year-old man, who was taken to Sydney Eye Hospital in a stable condition. He has since been released and will assist police with enquiries.

Police are going through CCTV footage in the hope of identifying the suspect, and are appealing for witnesses, who they hope may even have phone footage of the incident.

Hotel Ravesis was airing the Australia-France World Cup match at the time, and the bar was crowded.

Inspector Paul Sly from Waverley Police reported to 9News police did not know if the two men are known to each other, and don’t believe it was related to the soccer.
