To celebrate the new season of cult TV show Will & Grace, streaming provider Stan teamed with the Sydney Collective for a big-glitter theme party and launch of Karen’s Martini Bar at the iconic Imperial Hotel.
The themed pop-up bar opened last Friday night for “one fabulous gin-fuelled weekend” with Karen’s pink or espresso martinis on sale for $9, beside a special NYC-themed menu, and a jaw-dropping assortment of (candy) prescription bottles named the likes of ‘OCD’, ‘Closet Case’, ‘Commitment Phobe’, ‘Neurotic’ and ‘Oh Honey’.
Promotions promised patrons could be “schmoozed and abused by the improprietous owner herself” as Karen – aka drag queen Krystal Kleer – dropped by Friday through to Sunday night to prop up the bar.
Fans of the show enjoyed back-to-back episodes of their favourite New York foursome playing on large screens throughout the venue, and mystery prizes all weekend.
