HOTELS HOST FIRE-RECOVERY CHARITY DRIVES

The recent bushfires have affected rural communities and wildlife across multiple states, and Lewis Land Group is representative of those helping the recovery, through its Australia Day weekend charity drive.

On Sunday and Monday (26, 27 January) the Group’s venues The Fiddler, Camden Valley Inn and the Belvedere Hotel are hosting fundraising initiatives, with all proceeds going to the venues’ respective selected charity.

The Fiddler in Rouse Hill is in for the FRRR (Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal), Camden Valley Inn will root for the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital, and The Belvedere Hotel in Woody Point will bang the drum for the Australian Zoo Wildlife Warriors.

“To choose where to donate, we asked our staff to select the top charities that they were passionate about,” explains Head of Leisure, Brad Jenkins. “Collectively we hope to raise over 20 thousand dollars over the weekend to be distributed evenly between each organisation.”

Boasting these large-format pubs and the newly-acquired Mon Komo Hotel, Lewis Land will be donating a dollar for every item sold at each venue to the recovery of scorched earth – from meals and desserts to coffee and beer. The initiative follows in the generous tradition seen in so many community-hub hotels across Australia during the recent fire crisis.

“The recent New South Wales bushfires have been devastating for communities and native wildlife. With this in mind, we want to help those in need through fundraising initiatives at each of our Leisure venues.”
