The magnificent Botanic Gardens of Sydney is inviting hospitality operators to bring new f&b concepts to three stunning harbourside locations within the world-famous destination.
The Gardens (BGS) is seeking innovative operators to run temporary food and beverage outlets “of cultural and heritage significance” on the edge of Sydney Harbour, near the Opera House.
The sites are the QEII Gate, along the Farm Cove foreshore, providing a high-profile location at one of the Garden’s busiest visitor entry points; The Cove (Yurong Gate), also on the Farm Cove waterfront, boasting harbour views and proximity to major visitor experiences; and Mrs Macquaries Point (The Point) – one of Sydney’s most recognisable harbourside locations, providing panoramic views of the harbour, Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
A Request for Tender (RFT) process is now open. Operators can apply for one, two or all three locations and are encouraged to propose “memorable concepts” that both enhance the visitor experience and celebrate the Garden’s unique social and environmental status.
Successful proponents will demonstrate experience in high-quality f&b offerings and diverse visitor experience, strength in customer service and operations, and sustainable business practices. A First Nations offering must form part of the proposed concept.
BGS is offering an initial three-year term on the rare opportunity, with a two-year option.
Botanic Gardens describes itself as the meeting place of “people and plants, science, seasons and nature” and is one of Australia’s most visited tourism destinations, counting over five million visitors each year.
With the aid of a community of members, volunteers, partners and donors, BSG conducts critical research and action for plants.
All tender documentation, registration and submissions must be completed through the NSW Government procurement platform. Tenders close Tuesday, 6 October 2026.
