The keepers of Hotel Bargo, south-west of Sydney, are offering a new lease in the classic country roadhouse, as the region continues to grow.
The pub comprises a functional public bar, modern kitchen and quality bistro, gaming room with 26 machines, and 10 upstairs accommodation rooms. Its 5,179sqm lot includes an expansive 2,000sqm lawn ideal for events and functions.
Recently the kitchen operation has been resumed, and continues to grow, reporting weekly sales exceeding $14k. Gaming underpins the business, averaging net weekly revenue exceeding $31k.
Sales literature suggests further upside in the accommodation, which could represent a larger portion of takings.
Bargo is well positioned in the high-growth Macarthur region, around 100 kilometres south-west of Sydney. The precinct has typically comprised a mix of residential and rural property, but its proximity to the capital is bolstering its appeal.
The pub is in a catchment of over 4,300 residents, and directly opposite Bargo train station.
Lloyd Segerstrom bought the re-stapled Hotel with former Australian rugby league player Ian Schubert in late 2017, from freeholder and Sydney hotelier Peter Calligeros.
Citing ‘other interests’ as the catalyst for divesting, Segerstrom is offering a 14+ year lease, inclusive of options, through JLL Hotels’ Greg Jeloudev, Edward Browne and Ben McDonald.
“Rarely do we see such attractive leaseholds come to market in close proximity to Sydney,” notes Jeloudev.
“Given the inherent mix of trade, large footprint and excellent presentation, we are expecting strong interest from metropolitan operators and regional hoteliers alike.”
The leasehold interest in Hotel Bargo is being offered via Expressions of Interest, closing Tuesday, 4 April.
