A new pop-up is set to take Suburban Melbourne to new heights of culture.
‘The Backyard’, a combined effort from iconic venue The Suburban and popular craft brewery Mountain Culture Beer Co, opens Friday, 15th November, just in time for an expected scorcher on Saturday.
Situated in Eastland’s Town Square in Ringwood, the outdoor venue combines top pub food, live local music, and local wines alongside the craft beer the locals love – all under the eye of heritage-listed street art.
Winner of the GABS Hottest 100 for the last two years, Mountain Culture Beer Co (MC) will be offering ten of its finest brews in the laidback courtyard-meets-warehouse venue.
Director of The Suburban, Andy Croucher, said the venture was motivated by the relationship developing between the pub and MC.
“We really respect their approach to beer and the wider industry, and also them as operators and all-round good people,” he said.
“When the opportunity came about to launch The Backyard pop up this summer, we knew the crew from MC would be the ideal partners for us. Our patrons like their beer and resonate with their brand, plus MC don’t do things by halves, and we appreciate that energy.
“The Backyard is a way for us to showcase what Ringwood has to offer to the Melbourne hospo scene, and to attract people away from the highs and lows of the CBD,” he continued.
Croucher is also thrilled to share the street art, which up until now has largely been not available to the public eye.
“Written on one of the walls is: ‘Stories have to be told, or they will fade away,’ and I think that says it all. There are stories in this Backyard,” enthused Croucher.
