AVC’S GOOD NATURE BRINGS NEW ENERGY TO FED SQUARE

AVC’s Good Nature Hotel – aka ‘The G’ – opened at Federation Square on Thursday, 4 June, introducing a new pub, beer garden and social destination in the heart of Melbourne.

Taking over the former Beer Deluxe site, the venue has been transformed into a contemporary urban pub that combines relaxed hospitality with a nature-inspired design.

Located within one of Melbourne’s busiest cultural and sporting precincts, Good Nature has been created as a welcoming place for casual lunches, after-work drinks, pre-game catchups and family outings.

The redesign introduces a garden-led feel to the landmark Federation Square venue, with native greenery, natural materials and flexible indoor-outdoor spaces creating a setting that feels both vibrant and relaxed. Green-toned interiors, light timber, natural stone and layered lighting soften the urban surroundings while allowing the venue to transition seamlessly from daytime dining to evening drinks.

Designed as an easy meeting point before and after major events, the venue offers live sport screenings, pub dining, drinks, DJs, live music and family-friendly entertainment.

At the centre of the redevelopment is the upgraded beer garden, designed for year-round outdoor dining and drinking. A permanent weather-protected structure, retractable awning, heating, umbrellas and flexible seating ensure guests can enjoy the space across Melbourne’s changing seasons.

Inside, the ground floor pub serves as the venue’s social hub, centred around a main bar and casual sports viewing. The adjoining atrium provides a light-filled dining and functions space, while Level 1’s Grove Bar and Terrace offers family-friendly features including a children’s playground, booth seating and upgraded AV facilities, making it ideal for both families and private events.

The menu focuses on modern pub dining, pairing elevated classics with seasonal produce and share-style dishes.

The G also plans to host screenings and activations for major sporting events throughout the year, including the FIFA World Cup, State of Origin and NFL fixtures.

Blending contemporary design, quality hospitality and a connection to Melbourne’s cultural and sporting calendar, venue manager Ebony King says the goal was to create a venue that feels welcoming, social and distinctly Melbourne.

“Good Nature is about creating a place where people can come together, whether it’s for a casual lunch, after-work drinks, live sport, family outing or weekend celebration.

“We wanted the venue to feel fresh and relaxed while still capturing the energy of Melbourne’s pub culture and Federation Square.”
