The historic Dulacca Hotel & Tourist Park has been put to market, offering land and potential in a thriving region of S-E Queensland.
Known as the “pink pub on the hill” the Dulacca Hotel is a landmark of the Western Downs town, near Toowoomba, known as Doolachah by the local indigenous people, meaning ‘wattle trees’.
Set on 2.01-ha on the Warrego Highway, it sees major passing traffic every day. Its role in the community has been pivotal in the survival of the town, particularly through the pandemic.
The two-storey Georgian-style pub, with its upper level wrap-around balcony, was built 1908, and over the years has been a bank, the post office, a bakery, butcher, garage, general store, cafe and arts hall.
Beyond the Hotel, with its ample parking, the sale includes the attached tourist park featuring 25 powered van sites and seven cabins.
There is also development approval for another three accommodation units, and opportunity to further cater to business stemming from Dulacca’s proximity to a number of wind farm projects in the district.
The pub boasts year-on-year growth since 2017 – even during COVID – courtesy of its variety of income streams and strong membership program, counting hundreds of members, made up of local individuals and families.

Danny and Natalie Scotney have been publicans at the Dulacca for years. Danny’s parents run a farming business in the region, and his grandparents owned the pub from 1978 to 1983.
The growing business is likely to fetch circa $2 million.
