Australian payroll and employment software Wojo is looking to simplify the regular headache of calculating wages and conditions, through one integrated system.
Addressing a need in the market, Wojo was built to solve the common challenge of fragmented systems that don’t provide automated interpretation of Awards.
Surpassing legacy systems that only cater to one client or source, Wojo is used in complex companies with hundreds of employees, and is designed so it “adapts to fit” your business.
“One size doesn’t fit all,” says founder, Jim Dupuis.
“We’ve developed a platform that integrates payroll, timesheets, onboarding and compliance into a single, easy-to-use system — streamlining operations and reducing admin overhead.”
Previously operating an earth-moving business, Dupuis found there was no software on the market suited to juggling the myriad of worker types and situations.
In 2018 he began Wojo, engaging a high-end developer to tackle the problem and after five years development the product went live in 2023.
Wojo has approached hospitality looking to overcome where many systems fall short, equipped to manage fast-paced rosters, high staff turnover, late-night trading, and compliance with Award interpretation.
The system is set to automatically recognise and calculate for Award conditions, however timesheet data is entered, ensuring all Award factors are met, including allowances and leave management, delivering error-free payroll.
There are multiple ways in which timesheet data can be submitted:
- Manual Entry (via paper or computer)
- Mobile App: employees clock in and out via their phone, recording location, work type, shift allowances, or leave requests. Entries are instantly sent for manager approval
- Computer / tablet: (employee mode) a shared console allows employees to clock in and out at one or multiple locations
- Computer / tablet: (manager mode) managers can clock in and out individuals or a ‘group timesheet’ of multiple employees all at once, from a single device, and approve the timesheets in seconds
The Wojo software is compatible with desktop PC or tablet, and comes with its own app for smartphones.
“Real-time visibility, mobile-first tools and local support make a real difference to operators who are already under pressure,” adds Dupuis.
