Recently rebuilt and rebranded by Solotel, The Woodstock Hotel welcomed more than one hundred guests to its inaugural Wedding and Events Showcase on Saturday, 30 May, offering a firsthand look at how venues can create immersive experiences for prospective clients while supporting local businesses.
Rather than a traditional venue inspection, the free event brought together eleven Western Sydney event suppliers under one roof, allowing guests to experience a complete celebration environment.
Attendees explored The Woodstock’s purpose-built Events Centre while enjoying complimentary canapés, buffet samples and cocktails, alongside live entertainment and styled event displays.
The showcase featured a range of local vendors who together created a live demonstration of the many elements that contribute to a successful event, from styling and entertainment through to photography and catering.
A live saxophone performance, music and dancefloor activation, and a fully styled table setting with a dramatic draped centrepiece helped guests visualise how the venue can be transformed for weddings, milestone celebrations and corporate functions.

The event comes amid significant growth for The Woodstock’s events business.
Year-to-date, the venue has hosted six times more events than during the same period last year, welcomed ten times more event guests and recorded an average monthly increase of 281 per cent in event bookings.
As demand continues to grow for venues that offer personalised and experience-driven events, the showcase demonstrated the value of bringing together venue spaces, local suppliers and potential clients in a single, interactive setting.
For guests, it provided inspiration and practical connections; for local businesses, it created an opportunity to engage directly with future customers.
The strong attendance and positive response suggest there is increasing appetite for event planning experiences that allow people to see, taste and experience a venue’s capabilities before making a booking decision.
Solotel has recently made many strategic changes to its portfolio, including the recent sales of Kingsford’s Regent Hotel and the Kings Cross Hotel, and listing the Bank Hotel in Newtown, Sackville Hotel in Rozelle and The Clock Hotel in Surry Hills.
Group CEO Elliot Solomon says the shakeup is paving the way for a “clearer path forward”.
“With these changes, the next chapter of Solotel is more clearly defined – a focused group of family-owned pubs, bars and restaurants.
“We are now in a strong position to build a more focused business with greater ownership of its future.”
