THE FIDDLER STAFF CAR GIVEAWAY FINDS A WINNER

Highlighting an industry need to combat staffing shortages, multi-state operators Lewis Land Group have given away a brand-new Volkswagen T-Cross to a lucky staff member.

The competition was open to all new and existing staff at The Fiddler, offering a chance to win a brand new car, with servicing.

It was designed to both encourage new recruits and retain existing staff, as an incentive to “work and win” with each shift worked counting as a ticket into the draw.

Last week the crew of The Fiddler were able to celebrate their belated 2021 Christmas, and the winner was drawn.

Riley Danson

The Fiddler GM Tara Bonser and Lewis Land CFO Chris Allenby presented the keys to 19-year-old Riley Danson, who has worked at The Fiddler for 14 months.

The new vehicle, which came with a 3-year care plan thanks to Volkswagen Castle Hill, is worth a total of more than $30,000.

“Having a car as an incentive for staff recruitment and retainment has definitely worked in our favour over the last few months,” says Bonser.

“Where other pubs and hospitality venues have suffered through staff shortages, we have managed to keep all our doors open and I do believe the car was a good influence to keep people working and positive in such an ever-changing environment, whilst our team constantly navigated changes throughout COVID restrictions.”

Lewis Land Group is Australia’s oldest private property developer, and keeper of The Fiddler and Camden Valley Inn in NSW, and Belvedere Hotel in Queensland.

The Group put up the program in their NSW businesses last November, offering new cars to staff at The Fiddler and Camden Valley Inn.

Delays have meant the winner of the CVI vehicle has not yet been announced, but news is pending.
