TECHNOLOGY ORDER OF THE DAY FOR A.G.E. AND NEW VISITOR APP

The 2016 Australasian Gaming Expo (AGE) will take place in August, and reflecting the cutting edge technology of the show, a shiny new updated AGE App will further improve the visitor experience.

It’s less than four months until the latest and greatest AGE, and owners of the event, the Gaming Technologies Association (GTA) report preparation is ahead of schedule, with 17,000 m² of exhibitor space almost fully booked to more than 200 companies.

This will be the final year at the temporary Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island before the AGE reassumes its home in Darling Harbour in the brand new Exhibition Centre, which is due to open later this year.

The temporary facility has brought significant evolution to the AGE, including what has become the very popular free ferry to the island, granting visitors a picturesque harbour cruise to and from the show.

Last year also saw the addition of the AGE App, bringing the wonders of smart phone technology to the thousands of industry professionals that attend.

The free App can be downloaded to any iOS (Apple) or Android software phone, and cheerily greets visitors as they arrive at the Exhibition. Whilst at the premises, the App sends users relevant notifications about news and activities.

This serves as both a digital in-pocket enhancement of the traditional site map, and a permanent resource of exhibitor information.

The latest version of the App is available now via the Apple App Store or Google Play and through the AGE website, but tweaks and final details will occur until early August so visitors are advised to update or download in the days prior to coming to the show.

The AGE is by far the largest gaming exhibition in Australia, and one of the largest in the world – particularly as the sector remains strong and stable locally while markets overseas are in some fluctuation.

The GTA’s post-event research from last year found virtually all (97 per cent) of visitors looked to the annual AGE as the key opportunity to see new products and technology in the gaming market.

One visitor reported their experience as “Always interesting not just to see new products, but totally new ideas and ways of doing business … new areas of thought into how to trade.”

PubTIC-240x200-2016The 2016 AGE will take place Tuesday 9th to Thursday 11th of August.

As always, attendance is free to hotel industry professionals, and a trip for two to Las Vegas will be given away each day at the AGE.
