Australia’s biggest wagering provider is off to a racing start in 2015, confirming its continued partnership with veteran bloodstock company Inglis and announcing the upcoming start for world-renowned race caller Darren Flindell.
Locking in another three years with Inglis, Tabcorp will be shifting its face beside Inglis from Luxbet.com, with TAB “taking more prominent branding” in the partnership.
“Inglis is delighted to continue its strong relationship with Tabcorp, a company that continues to give back to Australia’s tremendous racing industry,” said Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster.
“Australia’s racing and breeding industries are going from strength to strength and we look forward to working with Tabcorp to showcase them to our domestic and overseas clients.”
An example of this “strength” is the introduction of Darren Flindell as the new chief thoroughbred caller, who joins the team following a distinguished career in Hong Kong and leads a new program of coverage of Sky Racing World soon to be available on Foxtel’s base tier.
“It is a childhood dream to return to this position in Sydney,” says Flindell. “I worked closely with Ian Craig as his assistant on race days at 2KY for a number of years and always had aspirations to follow in his footsteps one day.
“This is a very exciting time for Sky Racing and I look forward to being a part of the new coverage, which will reach new heights with a much bigger audience this autumn.”
Flindell is scheduled to call his first Sydney race 19 March, at Warwick Farm.
Tabcorp’s chief operating officer of wagering and media, Craig Nugent is pleased about the developments set to shape 2015.
“Tabcorp prides itself on its long-standing relationship with the racing industry and in delivering strong returns. Major partnerships with organisations within racing are key facets of this.”
