Lewis Land Group is pushing the limits of the staff crisis bandwagon, giving away two brand new cars to hard-working staff at its supersize venues The Fiddler and Camden Valley Inn.
On offer is a new Volkswagon T Cross with 3 years’ servicing, valued at $35k, at both pubs.
The competition is open to both new and existing staff, who get an entry ticket for every shift they work between now and Australia Day.
“We are looking to stay ahead of the pack in getting and retaining the best people out there,” explains Lewis operations manager Brad Jenkins.
“We know the staffing issue is going to continue well into next year, and we were looking for a unique way to get the attention of potential workers. The more you work, the better your chances.”
Jenkins believes the delayed start to the HSC is one aspect of the worker shortage not getting a lot of attention, and sees this as the right kind of enticement.
“We saw the car giveaway as a unique way of attracting these school leavers, amongst other groups.”
The next-level program follows Lewis Land’s highly successful $2,500 chef sign-on incentive scheme, which it began in May.
Inspiration for the latest promotion came from Tara Bonser, GM of The Fiddler, while the Group foots the bill for the new wheels.
“The goal is to be employer of choice for the local area,” she says. “And who wouldn’t want to win a brand-new car?”
