FORESTERS FOR FAMOUS FOUR

Nightclub operator Famous Four P/L is the new owner of the Foresters Beer & Music Hall, in Collingwood’s latest pub deal.

Following Julien Moussi’s Only Hospitality Group purchasing the Robert Burns Hotel in late June, Famous Four has snared the Foresters leasehold interest in Collingwood. The group already operates Melbourne CBD nightclubs Club F4 and Chuckle Park.

The two-storey hotel is located on the landmark corner of Smith Street, Collingwood and Gertrude Street, Fitzroy, with capacity for up to 400 people and a late licence. It also holds potential to activate a rooftop space that would offer views of the Melbourne skyline.

It continues the momentum of recent pub deals in the area, including the Robert Burns, Albion Hotel, The Gem, Leinster Arms and Gasometer.

Sale was on behalf of Craft Beer Market P/L, and completes the group’s exit from Melbourne pubs, after its sale of The Terminus in Fitzroy North.

Famous Four’s entry highlights the continued strength in Melbourne’s F&B pub sector, says CBRE Hotels’ Mathew George, who brokered the deal.

“We are seeing continued high demand from the hospitality sector for this area of Melbourne given the growing popularity of the city fringe as a live, work and play destination.

“A surge in high density residential development over the past decade has underpinned buyer interest in well positioned assets.”
