Lion and Tooheys have today unveiled another weapon in the pending State of Origin series, opening the Tedesco Inn in Camden, in tribute to the collective teamwork underpinning the success of the Blues.
In celebration of the upcoming 2023 State of Origin series, Camden’s Plough and Harrow – in the hometown of the Westpac NSW Blues captain, James Tedesco – is rebranding as the Tedesco Inn, and the big man is humbled.
“It has given me the chance to reflect on all the footy teams in my life, and how valuable the teamwork in rugby league and my community has been, in helping me get to where I am today in my sporting career. And for that, I’m so thankful,” says Tedesco.
Doors will open Wednesday, 31 May from 10am, for game one that night, through to the final game on Wednesday 12 July. All fans of Tooheys and the NSW Blues, and even Maroons, will be welcome.
“When Tooheys asked me if I would be open to hosting the Tedesco Inn I jumped at the chance,” explains Russ Lowe, publican at the Plough, which is part of Geoff Dixon’s G & D Dixon Investments.
“Not only am I a proud supporter of the Camden Rams and watched Teddy grow up on the field, Teddy and his family have been coming to our venue for years – so it was a natural fit. Teddy is the pride of the Camden community!”
Beginning last week and running until 12 July, Tooheys will also be donating money from every schooner of Tooheys sold at The Tedesco to the local footy club, the Camden Rams.
A New South Wales native, Tooheys is proud to back the Blues, as part of its brand overhaul that recently brought a bold new look for its range of beers.
“Sport has a special way of bringing Australians together, but is also the best display of how teamwork can create greatness,” offers Chris Allan, Lion Head of Beer, Core.
