The first partnership venue between Australian Venue Co. and BrewDog, BrewDog Pentridge, threw open its doors last week to Victorian beer devotees.
BrewDog Pentridge has been a $3 million project by AVC and BrewDog – one of the world’s largest craft beer bar operators.
“We’re excited that our first partnership with BrewDog has come to life, and that we have opened a venue in such a storied Melbourne location,” says AVC CEO Paul Waterson.
The new pub is located within the walls of the historic E Division building at Melbourne’s iconic Pentridge Prison, spread across two levels and able to hold 500 patrons.
The ground floor offers an indoor dining room and quiet den space, with the interiors acknowledging the history of the site.
On level one there are three function spaces plus a sprawling, relaxed outdoor beer garden, with BrewDog container bar and games area.
Aiming to be the go-to destination in Melbourne for craft beer lovers, Pentridge pours 20 different craft beers on tap, from session-strength pale ales and lagers to epic imperial stouts and sours, and including the ‘BrewDog & Friends’ range of guest local breweries.
On the food menu, half the items are plant-based, and there are BrewDog’s year-round signature specials, in 2-4-1 Vegan Mondays, and All You Can Eat Wings for $25 on Wing Wednesdays.
BrewDog Pentridge has created 77 new jobs, and leads the charge ahead of the next AVC-BrewDog creation, in Sydney’s South Eveleigh precinct, opening this month.
“Melburnians are ready for their first BrewDog,” says Waterson.
“It’s an unmissable craft beer destination, arriving just in time for a busy Melbourne summer.
