The Colosimo family’s Momento Venues has gained approval for a brand new upmarket hotel in the booming Macquarie Park business district.
Macquarie Park is in the heart of western Sydney, and in the past decade or so has become home base for many international companies, including Canon, Microsoft and Aristocrat.
Momento Venues (formerly Premier) was the creator of the Australian Hotel & Brewery at Rouse Hill – home to the Australian Brewery craft label. The group also operates the Hillside Hotel and Castle Hill, and highly successful Bella Vista Hotel at the Bella Vista business park.
The new venture will be called the Governor Hotel, emerging from a conversion to a three-level building on a commercial estate on Waterloo Rd, with no less than three distinct dining experiences, offering casual and fine-dining.
The Governor will cater to local professionals and residents, providing a range of spaces to suit personal catch-ups, business meetings and social or corporate functions.
“The Governor Hotel will be Macquarie Park’s newest hospitality venue, offering residents and workers within the Macquarie Park precinct a hospitality experience that is best in class,” a spokesperson told PubTIC.
Approval stems from Ryde Council’s plan to foster a night-time economy in the precinct, and the hotel was granted licence to trade 7am – 3am Monday to Saturday, and 7am – midnight Sundays.
Momento hopes to have the Governor trading by late 2017.
