PHMG’s The Collaroy swapped a master chef for a wild weekend as a storm front struck Sydney and battered the northern beaches.
Gale-force winds and wild seas stripped the beach away along the northern Sydney coastline, with Collaroy and Narrabeen devastated for not the first time.
Standing sentry on Collaroy beach, The Collaroy and neighbouring Beach Club faced storm surge that lashed the buildings, causing structural damage to parts of the Club.
A lavish cooking demonstration and three-course lunch at The Collaroy with celebrity group chef Guillaume Brahimi had to be postponed, as State Emergency Services (SES) scrambled to help throughout the area.
Today, the hotel reports no lasting damage, and that the ticketed event with Brahimi has been re-scheduled for Sunday, 19 June.
In recognition of the brave SES volunteers who risk their lives in emergencies such as fire and extreme weather events, Public House Management Group (PHMG) has offered a special happy hour at the pub.
