The historic Inglewood Hotel is for sale, primed for the next generation of owner to entertain locals and travellers to the south-east Queensland town.
Inglewood is a community of around 1K local residents, established in 1862 on the banks of the Macintyre brook, roughly midway between Goondiwindi and Warwick, around three hours west of Brisbane. Once a significant tobacco producing area, the more recent focus has been on sheep and cattle grazing.
A stalwart of the precinct, thought to be one of the oldest in SEQ, the current two-storey pub was built in 1931.
It occupies a 1,943sqm lot, providing air-conditioned public bar, dining room, gaming room with 10 machines, CRT and TITO, ‘The Shed’ family socialising area, beer garden and a range of modern, well-appointed accommodation rooms.
Owner Tom Minogue is an international Qantas pilot, and has recently carried out a major overall renovation across all departments, including a new 30KW solar installation.
Yet to realise its full potential, it currently reports annualised revenue of $2.3 million.
Following the closure of the Royal Hotel, the Inglewood is now the only pub in town, and after six years juggling the property and a career, Minogue has opted to sell up.
The freehold going concern asset is likely to find sale price of around three to four million.
It is being marketed by SGW Hotels’ Scott Williams, fielding Expressions of Interest.
“The place has been completely renovated – from the bar, gaming room, beer garden to the rooms upstairs,” offers Williams.
The EOI campaign closes Wednesday, 23 October.
