LAWLER SELLING STEADFAST NEVERTIRE

Indefatigable icon the Nevertire Hotel is for sale by long-standing owner and local legend Sam Lawler.

Built in 1882, the thriving Nevertire Hotel stands at the crossroads of the Mitchell and Oxley Highways, around 100 kilometres north-west of Dubbo.

In 2019 it was awarded runner-up for the AHA NSW Awards for Excellence, in the category of Best Bush Pub.

On the 2,681sqm footprint is a public bar, with adjacent modern commercial kitchen and popular family-friendly bistro averaging around 600 covers per week, a large beer garden for 150 patrons, with covered veranda, outdoor fireplace and children’s playground, four accommodation rooms, a manager’s residence, and a secure lock-up car park.

The title also counts a refurbished four-bedroom private residence and backyard, onsite.

The bustling Mitchell Highway ferries a high volume of traffic of both trucks and travellers, and the Hotel enjoys an established reputation as a ‘must stop’, with a large rest area across the road.

It holds a somewhat captive audience as the only venue of its calibre in the immediate area, attracting patrons from nearby towns.

A flagging Nevertire was refreshed this year, and cites average weekly revenue of $19,770 for FY21, and asking price of $1.1 million.

Sam Lawler has owned the Hotel since 2003, and approaching two decades at the wheel is said to be looking to move on to the next chapter of his life.

The Nevertire is reportedly well-loved and well patronised by the locals, “and Sam’s a great bloke,” says Jeremy Cusack, of Manenti Quinlan, marketing the pub with colleague Leonard Bongiovanni.

“The Hotel is stunning and overall it presents and looks immaculate.

“It’s just a great country icon, very well support by the surrounding area – with limited opposition.”
