Former AFL star Corey McKernan has sold his Melbourne pub as other business interests grow.
The Prince Alfred Hotel in Port Melbourne was built in the late 1800s and is described as “a beautiful, character-filled property”.
“We had some really great times at the Prince Alfred,” said McKernan.
“Although part of me is sad to let it go, I’m excited to be able to give my events business the time and energy it deserves.”
The Hotel was purchased by brother and sister team Linda Turner and Steve Schultz, who have operated Victorian pubs before.
The campaign was handled by Colliers International, and Associate Director of Hotels Pat Connolly says it is a “classic inner Melbourne corner pub”.
“The market is being driven by new entrants as well as smaller independent hotel groups looking to build on their portfolios,” said Connolly.
