THREE-STOREY QUARTERHOUSE TO DELIGHT MELBOURNIANS

Australian Venue Company has announced Quarterhouse – the newest multi-level pub, filling a gap in the market in the Melbourne CBD.

Quarterhouse is a contemporary venue for up to 1,400 people, located beside Southern Cross Station, mere minutes from Marvel Stadium, in the heart of Melbourne’s Quarter precinct.

Scheduled to open Wednesday, 14 May, it comprises three distinct levels, craftily blending the city’s urban energy with pub charm and natural elements, along with a “Euro gastro-pub” flair.

Targeting workers and visitors to the CBD, Quarterhouse will cater to after-work drinks, pre- and post-event gatherings for sports fans and Stadium patrons, corporate functions and weekend celebrations.

The ground floor is a classic but “elevated” pub, equipped with banquette and booth seating, and live sport on a four-metre LED screen.

Level one is a versatile functions space and terrace for up to 240 people, geared for corporate or private events.

And the Rooftop bar delivers “laid back indulgence” through an open-air wrap-around terrace, and access onto a brand-new inner-city Sky Park, suspended above Collins Street.

The two public areas will each offer their own menus.

The public bar, incorporating street dining, will serve pub classics such as chicken parmas and a selection of steaks, and the Quarterhouse Burger with bacon and blue cheese mayo, as well as small share dishes.

On the rooftop there will be larger gastro-pub style dishes, share-style dishes including Wagyu Beef Skewers, and seven different woodfired pizzas.

Every week brings a line-up of entertainment, ranging from free pool Monday nights to acoustic soloists and ‘Sunset Sip’ DJs playing through the week in the main and rooftop bars, beginning at midday on Saturdays, and live music and Trivia on Sundays.

There will also be a rotating Sunday Roast, with all the trimmings and bottomless gravy, for $35.

To celebrate the grand opening, the neighbourhood is being offered their first drink free, from 4pm on opening day, alongside free canapés from 4.30 and music from 5pm.

Bookings are now open to the public, AVC aiming for a casual venue providing appeal for a broad range of demographics, plus a unique feature in the rooftop bar.

“Quarterhouse is exactly what this part of the CBD has been missing,” says venue manager Luke Bottoms.

“It’s everything Melbournians love about a pub.”
