STOCKLAND SELLING GREENFIELD IN THE HILLS

Australian developer Stockland is offering a “truly unique opportunity” to acquire operations of the future large-format Gables Tavern, in the new suburb of Gables, near Box Hill.

The Gables is a massive 380-ha masterplanned development by Stockland, set to be a full-service residential community counting around 4,100 new homes and a sprawling Town Centre.

It is strategically positioned in the north west fringe of Sydney – one of the fastest growing regions in NSW, with the estimated population of Box Hill and surrounding suburbs expected to reach 30k by 2041.

Due to be located within the Town Centre, on approximately 3,700sqm adjacent to the future 7,500sqm Gables Retail Centre, Gables Tavern will be the precinct’s only establishment of scale, offering patrons a modern facility, with views of the lake and district.

It will join comparable big-name hospitality venues in the Hills Shire, such as The Fiddler, Marsden Brewhouse and the Vineyard Hotel.

Its construction and completion will reportedly be largely dependent on the chosen tenant for the long-term leasehold, and could move “pretty quickly”.

Stockland has been “creating and curating communities” across the country for over 70 years and has firmly positioned itself as one of Australia’s leading developers.

“Having achieved great success with similar projects, including new taverns in Queensland, we fully expect this exciting project to pique the interest of Australia’s most respected hoteliers,” suggests JLL Hotels’ Ben McDonald, marketing the opportunity with colleague Kate MacDonald.

The greenfield lease interest in the Gables Tavern is being sold via Expressions of Interest, closing Thursday, 20 July.
