PUBJOBS LAUNCHED TO FIGHT THE BATTLE FOR STAFF

Former AHA liaison officer Danny Howard has launched new service ‘Pubjobs.com.au’ to address the constant battle pubs have finding staff.

Howard spent five years with the AHA NSW, travelling the state talking shop with publicans.

Beyond the all-important price of bulk beer, he found the thing most often on their mind was the quest for new employees, and the time and cost of doing so.

“That’s when the concept hit me – I basically wanted an affordable alternative specifically for hotels to find staff,” he recalls.

Four years later, Howard has partnered with tech guru Andrew Macklinshaw, and Pubjobs launched this week.

The system aims to “take the pain” out of finding candidates, by delivering suitable applicants to the operator.

It incorporates an extensive reach within social media channels, to go beyond out-of-workers looking on traditional job boards.

Many have predicted a distinct shortage of hospitality workers in the coming months leading to Christmas, and as the hotel industry recovery continues at different paces across the country, Pubjobs is hoping to establish a relationship with struggling operators.

“Other platforms out there charge up to $600 for one job ad,” notes Howard.

“We will be free for the hoteliers in NSW over the next few months, or until this Covid19 situation settles down.”
