NORTH SYDNEY SPROUTS ROOFTOP OASIS GREEN MOUSTACHE

North Sydney has its first rooftop venue with the opening of the elegant, multi-level Green Moustache.

The space is a free-flowing area for dining, drinking and functions offering sweeping views through its glass exterior.

The design uses a variety of existing and natural materials alongside assorted plant life, real and faux, for a striking greenhouse-like structure.

Outside spaces feature a custom mosaic floor tile while inside are terrazzo-look floor tiles for a unique patterned finish, and custom artwork was developed and applied directly onto the brick walls. Timber slatted acoustic ceilings were used in some areas to reduce the noise made by the hard floor finishes.

Custom joinery throughout includes table tops of green granite with brass inlay, and printed pattern designs.

From the kitchen comes Australian and international cuisine, curated by former Chin Chin chef Pete Fitzsimmons, promising a sustainable approach to menu creation, and “bottomless lunches” on Saturdays.

Green Moustache is the work of a group including one of the names behind Sydney’s Arthouse Hotel, Andrew Utiger.

They commissioned Redwah Interior Design Studio to work in collaboration with architect John Cochrane and builders Erilyan to create a “curious and playful” hospitality design.

Redwah founder Ruth Harris says it is a “social destination and hospitality-driven oasis nestled amidst a landscape of steel and glass”.

Green Moustache has already been shortlisted in the Best Bar category at the upcoming 2019 Eat & Drink Awards.

It is now open at 100 Miller Street, North Sydney, at the corner of the Pacific Highway.
