MON KOMO FINDS HOME IN LEWIS LAND

Lewis Land Group has added to its select portfolio of large-format pubs with acquisition of renowned south-east Queensland entertainment venue, the Mon Komo Hotel.

The Hotel was developed by Kyko Group in 2011 as part of its multi-award-winning mixed-use Mon Komo development, located on the shores of Moreton Bay at Redcliffe, a half-hour drive from the Brisbane CBD.

It features multiple bars and dining options, as well as conference, meeting and wedding facilities, and has claimed numerous awards for excellence in service and entertainment.

After eight years ownership, Kyko Group sees the time as right to sell and focus on growing its office building portfolio.

“It’s been a great journey and we’re really proud that Mon Komo has become one of the iconic Queensland hotels,” offers Kyko director Bill Jenkings.

The off-market sale through Savills Australia’s Michael Simpson and Leon Alaban represents a strategic acquisition for Lewis Land Group, one of Australia’s oldest private property developers, founded in 1957. Its curated portfolio also includes The Fiddler at Rouse Hill and local landmark, the Camden Valley Inn.

The Group already holds the Belvedere Hotel, just a few kilometres south at Woody Point, and CEO Chris Calvert says Mon Komo will build on and leverage their existing presence in the south-east Queensland market.

“Lewis Land Group is committed as a long-term investor in the Moreton Bay region, which offers a perfect location for our outdoor, family-focused venues.

“We are looking forward to strengthening our community involvement across our two venues at Redcliffe and Woody Point.”

“We’ve been big admirers of the Hotel for a long time and we’re thrilled to bring it into the portfolio,” adds Lewis Land head of leisure, Brad Jenkins. “It’s a quality venue in all respects, and in many ways it sets the benchmark for hotel service and entertainment excellence.”
