Merivale has announced concrete plans for the highly anticipated re-launch of the Northern Beaches landmark that was one of the biggest sales of 2015.
Purchasing the sprawling 11-hectare property in March for around $47 million, the ever-dynamic group took possession in May with big plans for it be their “best yet”.
Stage one is set to re-open in January, with “an exciting range of food experiences” and extensive landscaping to complement what is often considered one of Australia’s most amazing beer gardens, overlooking Pittwater.
The menu will offer “experiences curated by” executive chef Sebastian Lutaud, and an instalment of the popular Vinnie’s Pizzeria, producing lightly-charred, wood-fired creations by the group’s “pizza superstar” Vincenzo Biondini.
There will also be an all-ages games area themed as a vintage gymnasium, with badminton, exercise bikes that can charge mobile phones and a giant magnetic scrabble board, as well as an outdoor Pétanque field and concrete table tennis courts.
The design team is made up of Akin Creative’s Kelvin Ho and Emilie Delalande, stylist Amanda Talbot, and Justin and Bettina Hemmes.
Stages two and three of the redevelopment are set to be revealed through the course of 2016.
