MANTLE EYES IPO FOR EXPANSIVE GROUP

Hot on the heels of Redcape’s long-awaited IPO, Queensland pub king Godfrey Mantle has divulged plans toward floating his Mantle Group portfolio mid-2019.

Mantle owns a string of successful Queensland operations, including five Pig ‘n’ Whistle pubs, one of which shares domination of Brisbane’s bustling Queen Street Mall with another of his venues, Jimmy’s on the Mall.

Recent expansion has brought an addition to the Group’s James Squire-themed pub, the Charming Squire venue in South Brisbane, with the opening of the much-lauded Squire’s Landing in Sydney’s Circular Quay in 2018. Another of the branded pubs is scheduled to join the books in May, when a two-storey operation opens on the Gold Coast.

Prior to then, two new restaurants will come online within Westfield Sydney’s rooftop space on Pitt Street.

The Group currently counts 15 venues, predominantly in Queensland, and Mantle believes his operational formula will transfer successfully to Sydney.

Currently executing due diligence, the industry veteran looks to join a select crowd of public listings emanating from hospitality groups.

“We are working towards a mid-2019 IPO,” he told the AFR.

PubTIC was unable to secure communication with Mantle Group prior to publication.
