MANAGER GLASSED OVER COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS

A man was arrested this week for allegedly glassing a manager at ALH’s Boomerang Hotel after he was asked to leave an area of the pub due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Police were called to a Hotel on Wagga Road at Lavington around 8:45pm on 4 June, after report of an assault.

Police allege a 21-year-old man verbally abused the manager, before smashing a schooner glass in his face.

The manager, in his 20s, was taken to hospital with facial lacerations.

Following investigations, police arrested the accused assailant on Tuesday.

He was taken to Albury police station and charged with using an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence, assault causing actual bodily harm, and failing to leave licensed premise.

He appeared briefly in Albury Local Court Wednesday, where he was granted conditional bail and will re-appear 6 July.
