LIQUOR & GAMING PRESENTS ACCORD CONFERENCE AND STRATEGY

Liquor & Gaming NSW last week held its Liquor Accord Conference for 2019, also announcing its Program Strategy for the coming years, and Governance & Operational tools.

More than 150 liquor industry stakeholders met with L&G representatives in Sydney to discuss practical solutions for addressing alcohol-related issues at the Conference.

The program included keynote presentations, panel discussions and Q&A sessions between L&G staff and Liquor Accord members, counting licensees, community members, businesses, local councils, police, government departments and other community groups.

The regulator furthered the Liquor Accords Conference event with launch of its Accords Program Strategy 2019-2022, and Liquor Accord Governance & Operational Pack.

“It’s also a great forum for Liquor & Gaming NSW to explain our plan for the next few years, and discuss how we can support venues, police and the wider community in working through some of the issues they may be facing,” notes Natasha Mann, Executive Director of L&G NSW.

Core elements of the Strategy are collaboration, support and recognition, aiming to promote liquor accord networks that are self-sustaining, and implement both best practice and innovation in their role fostering a safe and responsible industry.

The Governance & Operational Pack provides a suite of tools for Liquor Accords, to establish and structure correctly, and successfully attract and retain members.

L&G suggests being a member of an Accord brings the benefits of:

  • Materials and resources tailored to your requirements
  • The latest liquor accord news, regulatory changes and industry updates
  • Collaborative and supportive relationships with councils, police, patrons and residents
  • Improved compliance and resultant improvement to reputation
  • A reduction in under-age drinking, alcohol-related violence, and anti-social behaviour and crime in the community

The Operational Pack provides template documents for: governance, meetings, membership and promotions.
