L&GNSW ENERGISING REGIONAL HOSPITALITY

Venues in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales have been the latest to benefit from visits by Liquor & Gaming NSW’s (L&GNSW) Hospitality Concierge staff as part of its regional engagement strategy.

The visits are designed to provide information to regional operators on the NSW Government’s Vibrancy Reforms, to answer general questions and to provide support on licensing and compliance, so that the government can support a responsible, safe and vibrant sector.

The visits also ensure operators are aware of the Hospitality Concierge support service, a free resource for operators across NSW.

Now in its second year, L&GNSW plans to continue with this strategy following positive feedback from over one hundred venue operators to date.

Hospitality Concierge staff visited licensees and staff at nine venues over their recent two-day tour across Bonalbo, Murwillumbah, Uki and Kyogle, including The Imperial Hotel and the Dog’N Bull Hotel.

Here these venues learned about the current live music incentives, support with compliance and licensing, ways to expand offerings, and L&GNSW’s 2026 Regulatory Priorities.

The Dog ‘N Bull Hotel has already benefited from the government support, recently receiving a Live Performance Venue Grant to assist in upgrading its stage equipment.

Melanie Brown, L&GNSW director of Regulatory Excellence said the visits were an important forum to ensure regional businesses were kept up to date, and to ensure they continue to play a vital role in their communities.

“Liquor & Gaming NSW is committed to supporting licensed venues to ensure they have the information and resources they need to grow and thrive and can operate safely and responsibly.

“The Hospitality Concierge’s regional engagement program covered a lot of ground across NSW in its first year, with visits to Southern NSW, the Northern Tablelands and the South Coast.”
