The Stainsby family are parting with their beloved Hotel Terminus – ending a tenure that has lasted since 1941.
The Hotel Terminus is a proud two-storey brick pub on a 2,640sqm block on a corner of Shepparton’s main artery, High Street, around two hours north of Melbourne.
A hotel was originally built on the site in the 1880s, but Melbourne architects J. F. Ballantyne and Roy Wilson significantly remodelled it in 1938 in the popular Art-Deco style of the era, adding a second storey.
The pub is licensed for 400 pax, with strong food & bev, accommodation and function areas, generating annual revenue north of $1.7m.
The Stainsbys have owned and operated the pub for 76 years, and the current family members in charge are looking to retire.
They have listed the family heirloom as a freehold vacant possession, through Chris Foley of Chris Foley Brokerage & Real Estate, who says the vendors are very realistic.
“[It’s] a solid, consistent business with huge upside in this thriving regional city,” offers Foley.
Shepparton landmark the Hotel Terminus is being sold by private treaty with asking price of $1.7 million.
