Celebrity chef Guy Grossi has served up the freehold of his Brandon Hotel, in Carlton North, as the family reshuffles its collection.
Set in a prime location on the corner of Station and Lee Streets, the historic watering hole occupies a 353sqm site. It has previously been known as The London and Flying Squadron before being branded the Brandon in 1897.

The pub has served for decades as a welcoming space for loyal locals and broader clientele, known for its strong food and beverage offering, complemented by highly sought-after outdoor footpath seating, with accommodation upstairs.
Grossi has made a name through Grossi Group eateries, cookbooks, and most famously for his appearances on Iron Chef Australia and My Kitchen Rules. The celebrated chef purchased the Brandon Hotel in 2022.
Last year a new five-lease plus options was granted to an unnamed “high-quality food and beverage operator”. The tenant pays market rent with annual reviews, and covers all building outgoings.
Sale of the property now follows announcement last October of the sale to Edition Hospitality of Grossi Florentino, the Group’s flagship restaurant on Melbourne’s Bourke St, and several other venues, including The Grill and The Cellar Bar.
Offering robust underlying land value and secure tenancy, The Brandon is a rare freehold investment expected to attract an “active market response”, with price expectation of $2-2.5 million.
“Considering the premium residential values represented by its surrounding location, the anticipated return on investment is particularly appealing,” notes HTL Property’s Scott Callow, marketing the property with colleague Daniel Ryan.
The Brandon freehold is being offered via Expressions of Interest, closing Wednesday, 25 February.
