FORTITUDE VALLEY SAYS HI TO HEY CHICA!

Fortitude Valley will swing to a new rhythm from tonight, courtesy of Hallmark Group’s new Latin American-style social club, Hey Chica!

The new late-night venue is said to be the “closest you’ll get to Cuba without a passport” thanks to weekly entertainment, an extensive beverage menu and culinary inspiration from the Latin American street-food scene.

“Hey Chica! is all about the passion and atmosphere of a Latin American street party – a destination where guests can embrace the diverse and colourful energy found in the back streets of Havana,” says Hallmark Group director Scott Hempel.

Jungle Bird and Watermelon Basil Sour

Throwing open the doors from 17 September, the venue is characterised by a kaleidoscope of colour and neighbourhood party vibe, assisted by a line-up of DJs accompanied by trumpets, bongos and percussion entertainment.

The menu brings the bold flavours of the region, headlined by tapas such as crispy pork belly bites and chilli prawn lime skewers. Heartier options include charcoal oven morsels of striploin, nachos or Cuban sandwiches.

From the bar comes similarly targeted titillations, seen in the Zacapa Old Fashioned, or the Smokey Cuban packed with Joven Mezcal and cinnamon, reminiscent of a Cuban cigar.

“Lending to the warmer Queensland climate, for something lighter, guests can enjoy a Watermelon Basil Sour, Havana Colada, frosè, or a refreshing mojito – because Cuba was the birthplace of the mojito, after all.”

Hey Chica! Joins Hallmark Group’s existing Fortitude Valley venues Retro’s Cocktail Lounge and Finn McCool’s Irish Pub, and will be open from 11am ‘til late.
