The team behind the acclaimed Sandstone Point and Eatons Hill hotels has released details of its latest community-shaping venture in the $50 million Dakabin Hotel, shopping centre, and boutique village.
Slated for construction on a 3.75ha lot in the Moreton Bay suburb of Dakabin, the area will be transformed with a 2,500sqm shopping centre, a boutique village with a swathe of new stores including cafes and a gym, a service station, and the new pub.
It will expand access to shops and services for residents of Dakabin and surrounds, and boost employment opportunities through the 50+ staff to work at the Hotel, and around 250 jobs across the overall centre.
Located off the Bruce Highway beside Narangba, the Hotel will feature a bar, gaming room, new restaurant, kids’ playground and large outdoor area.
The Dakabin intends to elevate the regular pub experience, largely through exclusive food offerings, complementing quick-service centre eateries such as a Guzman Y Gomez and KFC drive-through.
“We are focusing on the food, looking to support locally grown produce where possible and deliver the unexpected to diners,” explains Comiskey Group director, Rob Comiskey.
“It’s going to be a unique hotel in offering and design. We’re meeting with architects to ensure it makes a statement.”
Renowned for their big-ticket greenfield builds, the Comiskey Group has had its eyes on the property for years, and with construction set to commence in early 2023, at an estimated $50 million, Rob says they are “always on the hunt” for opportunities in high growth areas.
“The drawcard really was the site’s corner position on two major roads, as well as its close proximity to North Lakes.
“The high-volume location is a convenient place for the community to come, allowing for great exposure of our tenants.”
This announcement comes off the back of that for a major hotel, festival site, and entertainment venue by the Comiskeys, heralding the Sunshine Coast’s $35 million Aura Community development.
