CBH CONQUERS CHARITY MILESTONE

In an impressive philanthropic effort, Coogee Bay Hotel has fulfilled its five-year $1 million pledge to the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation (SCHF) a year sooner than expected.

The CBH and its generous donors raised $325,000 at the 2024 Coogee Bay Hotel Golf Day alone, with the $1 million total to assist in funding the Sydney Children’s Hospital Parent and Carers retreat.

The hotel’s commitment to improve outcomes for sick children has already created a lasting impact.

It has been a supporter of the Foundation for many years, and over this time has raised over $4 million through its annual charity golf event, ensuring funding for various hospital initiatives, facilities, programs and more.

SCHF CEO Kristina Keneally said the Hotel’s support ensures children access to the best possible care, and she’s grateful for the ongoing assistance.

“Demand for paediatric services is growing and expectations for care are changing.

“The redevelopment of Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick, including the new Parent and Carers Retreat supported by Coogee Bay Hotel, will enhance the care experience for sick kids today and drive better outcomes for sick children and their families in the years ahead.”

Cheung thanked past and present partners for their support with the initiative, and credited them with its success.

“Since our first Charity Golf Day in 1997, we’ve raised over $4.5 million, directly benefiting the SCHF’s lifesaving work.

“In 2000, we proudly launched our $1 million commitment over five years to support the new patient and carer lounge in the emergency department and are over the moon to have delivered this commitment a year early.

“Golf Day is one of the highlights of our calendar at Coogee Bay Hotel and we look forward to continuing our support for the SCHF for many more years to come.”
