BRIBIE ISLAND ‘NEXT CHAPTER’ UNDER CONSTRUCTION: AVC

Australian Venue Co continues its major capex program into its Queensland pubs with transformation of the much-loved Bribie Island Hotel.

A $2.2million renovation has begun, embracing “the island holiday life” through creation of a modern, coastal venue and entertainment hub targeting both locals and tourists.

Bribie Island is a 90-minute drive from Brisbane, and accessible via the Bribie Bridge, from Sandstone Point.

AVC (Australian Venue Co) is revitalising all spaces, including the indoor bistro, beer garden, sports bar and gaming room, and adding a major new kids’ play area in the beer garden.

The menu will focus on value-led classics, ranging pub favourites alongside seafood specials, as well as snacks, share dishes and specialties from the new wood-fired pizza oven. There will also be a Salad Bar, where guests can serve themselves for free with the purchase of any main meal.

Parts of the pub will remain open during stage one, serving food and drinks. The new offering will offer capacity for 250 guests seated in the bistro, and another 250 seated in the beer garden.

AVC COO Craig Ellison says it was time for a refresh of the island pub, and the group has enlisted the input of people who have known and loved it.

“We’re building this pub for our locals, so we’re asking them what they want to see. Our customer feedback will shape the next chapter of the Bribie Island Hotel.”

Bribie Island follows recent renovations, including Beenleigh Tavern, Crown Hotel, Kings Beach Tavern, Fitzy’s, The Wallaby, Chancellors Tavern and Mihi Tavern. It is slated to fully re-open at the end of 2021.

“We can’t wait for customers old and new to see the big reveal later this year and be able to use the new spaces.”
